In my artistic practice, painting is a computer with self-emotion as a variable. I developed an interactive rule between painting and the software: The pictorial process will influence the operation on the software, which in turn will influence the pictorial process, in order to symbolize the relationship between people and machines.
“linear and non-linear, virtual and real, human and non-
human …”These thoughts are important clues that influence the variable. The Renaissance theme, reinterpreted under these clues, is a metaphor for the structural adjustment of today’s society.

Zhou Zhanjie, born in China in 1994. In 2014 he graduated from the aristocratic high school of fine arts academy of China in HangZhou. In 2019 he graduated in visual arts from the painting section at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Currently enrolled in the two-year course in visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.
