I’ve been photographing professionally for over 10 years now.
I have no formal education in the arts, but I have gained knowledge through my initiative and self-study. I view this as an advantage, as I have crafted my own path to expressionism, supported and encouraged by my skills in design and material knowledge, which I acquired through my trade as a contemporary furniture maker.  My studio is located in a section of my workshop that I built over twenty years ago.  Over time, I have come to understand and appreciate the difficulties caused by its limited floor space, and I have made this a central focus in my approach.

My photographic work combines elements of abstraction and figuration, with a deliberate aim to explore satirical themes through purposefully staged ideas. I photograph what I find beautiful, remarkable, and worth telling. I seek ways to examine life’s realities and, in doing so, attempt to reveal the essence of photography. My work is characterised by its constructed and conceptual approach, and what I desire from art and photography is a connection, not a conclusion. Any effort to cultivate an unorthodox gaze helps me stay adaptable rather than seeking immediate understanding.
