Pagurus plasticae 2023
In this work, I used some wrecked and moth-eaten wood (reminiscent of the woods found on beaches after a storm surge) and the colors of some brands of commercial plastic bottles to recreate the visual impression of a postcard sea, with the various shades from light blue to deep blue. In this 'sea' lives a hitherto unknown animal species: the 'Pagurus plasticae'. It is actually unclear whether the animal has managed to adapt to this new artificial environment or is about to be overwhelmed by it: it is the same doubt that probably sometimes nags away at us , uncertainty about our future.

Ostensione 2023
The claws of a crab hold up a crushed plastic bottle covered with bitumen. The Italian title of the work, ‘Ostensione’, refers to a concept of sacredness while the english translation ‘Exposition’ is more generic. In this case what is 'exposed' to the gaze is the denial of the sacredness of Nature, something corrupted by the activity of men.
