NELSON LIM
Singapore
Nelson Lim (b. 1975, Singapore) is a ceramist exploring the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and mechanization. Holding an MFA from National Tainan University of the Arts, he merges ancient ceramic techniques with industrial materials to examine the evolving role of technology in art. His project Dilemma Relationship investigates tensions between handcraft and automation.
Lim has exhibited widely in Singapore and abroad, earning recognition such as the Gyeonggi Ceramics Award 2024. An adjunct lecturer at SUSS and NAFA, he is also dedicated to special needs art education through Explorer Ark, with over 20 years of experience. He has conducted workshops internationally, including in Korea and China, and continues to push the boundaries of ceramic art by exploring materiality, craftsmanship, and digital technology.
