Liya Wan
China
Wan Liya was born in Qingdao, China in 1963.
He was one of the earliest artists who participated in contemporary ceramic art in China and established a personal ceramic studio.
Wan Liya participated in many important ceramic art activities, which had an important influence on the modernization process of China ceramic art. He has been engaged in ceramic art for 35 years until now since 1989, In 2020, Wan Liya was elected as the IAC Council Member- representative of China. His works pay attention to the proper combination of material characteristics and personal concepts. His works reflect the artist's deep thinking about the long tradition of China ceramic art and his inner feelings about the drastic changes in contemporary human society.
