Soul Eraser 2021

I create works with which I can have a very close, even physical contact. It is symbolized by fingerprints left directly on the canvas. At the beginning, when the figure crystallizes, visualizes and becomes palpable, I feel the need to cover it with handmarks made with oil paints. This technique gives the effect of “moving”, the characters are clearer only after closer examination of the painting.

Touch of soul 2021

The video performance shows the process of layering the painting. Less than a minute-long film, documents the act of applying a layer of paint but with the blindfold. The artist treats this performative way of expression as an act of freeing herself from what is visual and focusing on the sensua, experimental aspect of creation. By touching and allowing unexpected results to happen, the painting becomes more referred to as “being alive”. This act gives the artist full concentration, “entering the picture” while creating it. The series of the latest canvases reflect portraits that are enveloped in what is uncertain, disturbing, scary and stressful. She is running from physical details and the process is still ongoing and getting more blurry (abstract).
