Petrified Food 2023
In the enchanting realm of folk and fairy tales, food possesses mystical powers, acting as a catalyst for metamorphosis. A simple pumpkin may transform into a majestic carriage, an apple might initiate a dramatic change, and mushrooms can unlock the door to an unknown world. Furthermore, the profound link between food and time is evident, as it can either sustain life or pose a threat when it succumbs to decay. Food is a fleeting treasure, cherished only within a limited period—between ripening and spoiling. Moreover, the role of porcelain as an artistic medium mirrors this wondrous process of transformation, providing the alchemical journey from raw material to a final piece of art.

Kristina Okan

Kristina Okan is visual artist, born in Russia. Lives and works in Spain. Okan received her Master of Arts Degree from Stroganov`s Academy of Industrial and Applied Arts in Moscow.
Okan has exhibited her works in solo and group exhibitions across Europe and Asia, including the UK, Italy, Germany, China. She was nominated for a prestigious international ceramic art award Blanc de Chine in
2019 and 2023, alongside the largest graphic award in Europe for young artists, Koschatzky Art Award in 2021. In 2022 her work within Moon Gallery Foundation (the first off-planet gallery) has been launched to
the International Space Station as a part of artistic and scientific mission.
