Do not shoot the deer 2020

This painting starts a series of works about the humanity’s footprint on nature. The paintings of the series are intended to create the impression of a frozen moment in anticipation of destruction, a certain post-apocalyptic world, to cause conflicting feelings of peace and anxiety.
In this picture, the bubbles burst above the deer-girl’s head and fall to the ground as cranberries.

Julia Kuzina

I am a self-taught Russian artist living in Saint-Petersburg. I work with oils on canvas.
My work is deeply emotional. Each my painting evokes a lot of conflicting feelings. I use pain and love, ugliness and beauty in each piece. In my paintings I explore the relationships between human and nature, themes of their vulnerability. My paintings tell stories. Look closely and you will hear them
