INSTA 2020

Insta is my personal statement in sculpture about appearances and an alternative version of
ourselves that we create in social media. The work consists of three parts: one symbolizes our real
body, the second one is an improved, retouched, colored version of the first one, but at the same
time it’s artificial and untrue. Both complement each other and create one form. I serve them to
viewers on a ceramic tray as a dish on a plate. However, there's no food, but a question about the
sense of constant negation of natural beauty of ourselves and necessity to pretend to be someone
else.

Poland

I am a graduated of the only ceramic department in Poland at The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw. From 2008 I am employed there as an assistance in Artistic Ceramics Studio, so that is the place where the most of my latest works has been made. In my ceramics I try to describe the world around and tell stories that touched me. Problems taken up are as important to me as visual values. Working in ceramics I’m still trying to develop my skills and learn new techniques. In my opinion ceramics give a lot of possibilities to express myself thanks to working with shape, texture, colour as well as with the cultural and traditional context of the workshop – this is what fascinates me about this technique.
