My sculptural work, which began with a fascination for the humorous charm of the magpie and tiger in Minhwa (Korean folk painting), has been a great joy for me—especially as someone who had previously worked only with white porcelain.
Perhaps that joy has resonated with many people, as I often see them smiling while looking at my work. It is in these moments that I realize my initial desire—to create art that brings happiness—is coming true.
Through clay and the medium of Minhwa, I have expressed my love for animals and the emotions of connection and kinship with them.
In a world where a simple smile can make each day fulfilling, I hope to awaken warm and positive feelings through my work.
