The images forms a part of an ongoing series of self-portraits named "Maybe Tomorrow I'll Write a Poem". The self-portraits represent an intimate dialogue with myself, a manifestation of my emotions, of my inner world: free, gentle, mysterious, timid, loving, passionate, even sad or suffering. The exposure of little parts of my body and their geometry, as well as the use of a photo backdrop paper or photo backdrop cloth instead of a skirt/dress create a mysterious effect, leaving space for the viewer to create his/her own poem (a poem of his/her liking). Since I am not capable of writing poems with words, I wanted to write them with light, so I created this lyric photo series. They are very much inspired by magic realism in literature, which is my favourite style: a realistic narrative underlined by dreams and magic. Jana Fašungová is a fine art photographer based in Slovakia.
She initially pursued her career as a lawyer. After fifteen years of her lawyer career she switched to photography, which has always been her passion.
She specializes in fine art portraits, especially self-portraits.
