beyond wave 2024

The work ‘beyond wave’ is combined by
vessels with organic shape. it expresses
the continuous wave through subtle
changed blue glaze and organic lines.

with people 2023

Based on the vessel form, which is the
basic function of ceramics, smooth outlines
of “people” is maximized through the neat
surface of white porcelain. it adds a sense
of rhythm to the shape by controlling the
curve of objects and the blue color glaze.

I received a B.A., an M.F.A and PH.D. in the College of Design of Kookmin University and its Graduate School in Korea and an M.F.A in ceramics at Loughborough University in the U.K. Currently, I am teaching students as a professor of ceramic design at Kongju national university and also doing ceramics as a maker. I researched Korean ceramics at Gyeonggi Provincial Museum. My works express modern sentiments by starting on the foundation of traditional value and finishing with smooth outlines and neat surfaces. My works are housed in major ceramic museums including Gyeonggi Provincial Museum and I have participated in many major exhibitions.
