Turmoils of a City 2019

As part of an Exhibition funded by the EU on the International Day of Human Rights. The wall of Contemplation chose 12 artist from around the world to draw a piece on one of 12 walls. The theme was focused on human rights. I chose the right to have a family, and children rights. The wall comments about child marriage, child soldiers and the fragility of a family in modern cities.

Hassan Issa


Hassan Issa is a Lebanese artist and a social worker with a diverse background in art, education and non-governmental organizations. Graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Arts from the American University of Beirut, he worked on various education-based projects in Lebanon focused on access to education for out of school children. With a growing passion for illustration, he joined the Barcelona Academy of Art in 2015, where he spent a year studying art history and Realism techniques. Hassan’s work is inspired by the stories told about the happenings on the socio-political level in the Arab world. He currently resides in Beirut, where he juggles his time between creating illustrations and his day job with World Learning, an NGO that ensures scholarships programs in cooperation with the Lebanese University for Syrian refugees residing in Lebanon.
