Untitled (detour #4) | 2018

from the series Obstacles
series description: A scene is embedded in silence, there’s no comment. The recorder, in focus, doesn’t make any sound. Space is limited. In a narrowed perspective, something always seems out of place – things, looking as if suspended between a machine and a sculpture. Eye of the camera finds itself in the middle of the buffer zone. It registers the dormant border posts; situations, which appear impossible. There’s no way to get through and neither a way back. The balance of power is disturbed, latency becomes more obvious. The slip puts off-the-balance and off the beat. A phantom soars – of all plans being unfulfilled. Air becomes incommensurate and expands, the pressure drops. There will be no order and the final project will never be achieved. Here no object hulks above the others.

from the series Black Magic
series description: I glide my tongue against my tooth. Its’ rough surface reminds me that it’s still organic. The metabolism of the bone tissue has noticeably slowed and the structure has begun its’ entropic metamorphosis. A broken fragment comes loose, in other places there are recognizable abrasions. Through the decrements, the inside becomes visible – black and carious. There is nothing to distract from focusing on infinity. New dynamics are breathed by puffs and hums into this phase space. Their surfaces become blighted; the varnish wears away, old, dried-up paint grows brittle and falls. The exterior decomposes along its’ foundation in an undiscriminating act of self-vandalism.
That which once was a milky-white, pristine, appears now as a greyed lead filling. In time, all things are revealed to be authentic or counterfeit. From instability comes new power; stated parameters conserve themselves. The thermodynamic system naturally shifts from one state to another.
