Erin Hughes (b. 1989) is an artist based in Llanidloes, mid-Wales. She holds a BA in Fine Art from the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford (2012) and an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London (2018). Her process-based practice involves creating hand-marbled papers that emulate natural stones, forming intricate collages of landscapes. Inspired by Pietre Dure, faux-marble surfaces, San Marco’s Basilica, parallax, and illusion, her work explores labour, remediation, and materiality. Recent exhibitions include Floored/Flawed (Aberystwyth Arts Centre, 2025), Newham Horizons (Vital Arts, 2024), Lle Rydym Ni (touring, 2023–25), and River Songs (Hafren Theatre, 2023). She co-founded Cypher BILLBOARD and Contemporary Collaborations.
