A Circle of Exchange 2020

Through the concepts of ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response; the relaxing effects of whispering, soft repetitive sounds and visuals) and circus (aerial straps, hand-balancing and contortion) “A Circle of Exchange” dives into relationships between audience members, particularly to the meeting of “strangers”. With the help of some simple can-and-string telephones, it has been found that ‘play’ is an important addition to sharing in something greater than the awkwardness of first introductions.

With a history of artistic gymnastics and youth circus, the stage has always been a happy place for me. During 13 years of training, performing and coaching experiences at Kinetica CDT in Australia – plus 4 years more at Codarts Circus Arts in Rotterdam – I discovered a love for connecting to people through sharing my art.

With intimate atmospheres filled with surprise and absurdity, my goal is to leave audiences gasping in the seats, questioning how their own bodies would feel in the situation I present.

Though mainly seen in the air on aerial straps, I can also be found contorting my way through bizarre positions, balancing on my hands or being thrown in the air as a flyer.
