The "Volcanic Plants" serie, presents an imaginary garden filled with succulent plants of Mediterranean flavour. This is exemplary of the artist 's project to crystallize nature’s poetry and beauty, and to protect it from the erosion of time.
The sculptures are shaped by the artist with an amalgam of resin and volcanic sand.
The focus is to create, as a synonym for cultivating (etymologically "taking care of, developing, improving"), with an attention to the flow of time and the stillness of substance.

Emilia Faro (Catania, 1976) lives and works in Turin. After getting a degree in Pharmacy, she studied History of Art at Louvre Museum of Paris. She attended art schools and workshops all over the world. This was a career path that shaped and liberated her expression, evolving continuously, first in watercolors and then installation art, sculpture and video art. The artistic research of Faro investigates a general reflection on the condition of modern man and his relashionship with the environment, Nature and the Eternal Return which governs it.
