Troubled Waters 2024
I focus on the relationship between the internal and the external worlds of a human being. The pandemic situation has dictated new forms and ideas. After the introduction of lockdown, the world as if stopped turning. This standstill has been a great opportunity for me to think and reconsider the things surrounding me from anew. This whole situation has taught me to cherish what I have; not to hurry, to stop and live every single moment to the full. New sculptures have acquired somewhat unexpected forms unusual for my artwork. They contain certain Baroque elements witnessing of the crises we’ve been undergoing as well as the uncertainty of the situation and all this confusion. In these works, using ceramic material, I wanted to capture every single vibration, as if the image were immersed deep under the water and a viewer would be able to feel the flowing stream of water. So, such would be my response to the present situation – not to resist and to accept it as it is.
Yellow 2024
At the moment, as before, I am interested in the relationship between humans and the environment. We are living in a time of great challenges: the pandemic, war, crisis, instability, powerlessness, and meaninglessness. The works I have created speak of balance and instability, temporality and eternity. Thinking about truth, the lack of light and justice, I created the piece 'Without Boundaries.' Here, my goal was to immerse a yellow work in a yellow background. In this way, I want to express the adaptation and homogenization of the world.

Eglė Einikytė-Narkevičienė

The artist Eglė Einikytė-Narkevičienė was born in Klaipėda (Lithuania) in 1972. She graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts (MFA: Ceramics,1998). , and has been a Member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association from 1999 , AIC-IAC (Switzerland) from 2019 and Michelangelo Foundation (Switzerland) from (2019). Since 1995 she has participated in more than 60 exhibitions and 20 symposia in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and Turkey. The artist has won awards such as the Third Prize at the International Ceramics Contest CICA‘2018 Spain (2018), Diploma of Honor as winning prize in the Korean International Ceramic Biennale (2019), the Third Prize at the 6th Vilnius Ceramic Art Biennial (2020), Winner prize "Distant ceramics" International online exhibition (2020), Merit Prize in the International Coffee Cup Competition Taiwan (2020), "Golden pin" of Lithuanian Artists Association (2022).
