The book is instrumentalized as a cultural and structural element between two people. It is also an object of transfer, or of separation. between two people.
These images were staged in my studio in the midst of the 2018/19 mass migratory flow crisis in Europe, which is provoking community retreats,
fear of cultural, ideological, economic and climatic invasions. The control of migratory flows at the borders, and the limits to circulation that have been put in place, are restricting acts and gestures. How we occupy space in the presence of others is one of the markers of political identity.
My images suggest the presence and at the same time an insurmountable limit in cultural differences.
ASYLUM 2021

Synopsis:
ASYLUM (ASILE) is the wordless account of four people in an asylum situation.
Divided into four "paintings" (fixed shotts), each interview begins with the same question: "Why did you leave your country?" The questions to the asylum seekers that remained unanswered are based on real interviews.
As they listen, a distorted voice asks the individuals about the reasons for their departure: domestic violence, political orientation, prostitution and ethnic massacres. On the screen, a hand knocks on the glass, a rising water, the manipulation of a transparent plastic veil or the last leaf of the tree. The film is built on two different perceptions: documentary and metaphorical. The direction lets our mind drift between a cold and concrete sound documentary and the subjective flow of images.

DELMAS ALIX
France
Born to expatriate parents, she spent her childhood in Senegal, then her adolescence in the post-Franco French and Spanish Basque Country. She studied painting at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, practice she abandoned on graduating with honors, to devote herself fully to aesthetic experiences in every possible medium. Alix Delmas has already won several Awards : the Mostra Internationale di Bracciano, the Arte Laguna Prize, the CelestePrize, the Prix Altadis. Research grants : Ekphrasis, AIC Drac Îles-de-France. In 2023, she was one of the winners of a commissioned by the Ministry of Culture "Les temps changent". Her work has been acquired by numerous collections, including: FAC Paris-Collections, FRAC Auvergne, FRAC Montpellier, FRAC Artothèque du Limousin, FAC Ivry-sur-Seine,Mudo, FNAC, Musée d'Aurillac, Musée de la Préfecture de police de Paris. Internationally: Fondation Leube, Salzbourg, Albertina Museum Wien, Landesmuseum, Oberösterreich, Linz, British Artists’ Film & Video Study Coll.
