Christine Miess was born in Linz/Austria. With a degree in media and communication studies she worked in journalism for more than ten years. 2012 she decided to fully dedicate her life to photography.
Within her work Christine Miess takes the viewer on a journey in search of the marvellous in the everyday. Her photographs appear as dreamlike images in which fiction and reality meet, meanings shift, past and present fuse. Time, memory and dreams always play a key role. There’s beauty in her work and sadness, geometric shape and confusion, tranquility and roar – analog to the world, to life, which happens to be different every day.
