Transit 2025
Transit envisions stalled movement and blurred boundaries between nature and infrastructure. Large mammals linger in transit spaces—garages, platforms, buses, trains, planes, and boats—where movement is promised, but escape is elusive. Created in Blender, the first part renders these surreal encounters in stark detail, while part two, with AI-generated decay, suggests time unraveling their purpose. AI-assisted music further dissolves the line between the organic and the artificial. A meditation on captivity, transition, and the remnants of human infrastructure.
Natural Intelligence 2024
Natural Intelligence is “intelligence created by nature, natural evolutionary mechanisms” as opposed to artificial intelligence. With it, “there is a dynamic movement of natural intelligence that evolves from vague, fuzzy, and unconscious states to more concrete and conscious states, and thus realizing the essence of perception” (Perlovsky and Kozma, 2007, p. 1). It is beautiful and deeply flawed, but it levels out in the end.
As artificial intelligence (AI) gains ground at an alarming rate, we have come to recognize the beauty and similarity between human intelligence and all forms of organic intelligence. Science has proven that animals are more like us than we previously understood. This video aims to explore the fascinating world of natural intelligence, drawing comparisons with AI to highlight the remarkable capabilities of organic beings.

Brit Bunkley
New Zealand
Brit Bunkley is a New Zealand-based artist and videographer whose practice spans sculpture, installation, and digital media. A recipient of the US National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, two NY state grants, and the Rome Prize Fellowship, his work explores the intersection of physical and virtual spaces, often blending surreal imagery with themes of history, politics, and environmental concerns. He has exhibited at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa and internationally at Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, FILE São Paulo (including 2025), and the Athens Digital Arts Festival. Recent exhibitions include Visions in the Nunnery, London (2022), Cybersculpture 2024 at Collège des Bernardins, Paris, and The Torrance Art Museum, LA (2025). In 2024, he won Best Art | Experimental Video/Film at the New York City Independent Film Festival. His work continues to evolve, embracing new technologies and alternative methodologies to challenge perceptions of reality and imagination.
