Adriatic Highway (2014 – ongoing)

Adriatic Highway is a road that follows the East coast of Adriatic Sea. Opened in 1965, it represents a capital infrastructural project which has played an important role in the development of tourism in Croatia. Constructing the controversial road has caused antagonism between urban planners and conservators, whereas today it represents one of the most beautiful roads of the world. Driving along the highway today reveals fast and intense transformations of the landscape and infrastructure that are made in order to intensify tourism. Different initiatives are dramatically transforming the landscape on a daily basis in this peculiar environment.

Bojan Mrđenović (b. 1987) has graduated in Art History and Information Science from Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb in 2012. He graduated in Cinematography from Academy of Dramatic Art, Zagreb in 2015. Today he is employed as photography teacher at the department of Cinematography at the same Academy. He is working as a cinematographer and as a photographer.

He exhibited the photographic works Welcome, Future, Imported Desert, Spa, Greek Diary, and Highway at solo exhibitions, and participated in many group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. He is the winner of the main prize of the Rovinj Photodays festival in the Architecture category, the Red Carpet Art Award for young artists and the first winner of the Marina Viculin prize for the development of photographic work.
