Hedonistic waste | 2015

TECHNIQUE / MEDIUM:
graphite and ink on paper
DIMENSIONS (IN CM):
113 x 170 cm

Of meat as landscape, almost like a wasteland— this image was created out of reference from documentation at a butcher shop in Hong Kong. By means of drawing, I was considering the notion of decay and grotesque and the exploitation of animal lives as commodity. Our obsession and fascination with meat as food and taste versus the unsustainability of producing meat in the long run which contribute to damage and pollution on Earth presents morality that now coexists with modern consciousness, contributing to psychological dilemmas that are often responded with indifference.
