Tree of Life, Blueberry 2023
The work is a part of an installation "The Saint of the Birch and The Joy of All who Sorrow " that consists of three-dimensional miniature landscapes and sculptures. One of my central thoughts is to describe and strive for a sense of merging with nature in my works, the miniature world of moss mounds and ferns, which also includes a sensory experience beyond boundaries and presence—sort of a return to the innocence of childhood and particularly to the open experience of the forest and the environment.”
Materials and dimension:
Blueberry stem, fabric, willow stand, 160 x 25 cm.
I continued to build dried blueberry stem for a new, using fabric and sewing. Stand is made from willow tree.

Anne Siirtola
Finland
Anne Siirtola (b. 1967, Kitee, Finland) works through installations, employing various methods and materials depending on the starting points of her work. She explores the interactions between humans, nature, and different worldviews in her pieces. In her community-based works, she has contemplated with others what is meaningful and worth pursuing in life and what kind of legacy each of us leaves behind.
Siirtola lives and works in Karkkila.
