Sensing the Night 2021

For her project "Sensing the night," Anne Glassner invited scientists, artists, architects, and curators from Vienna and Brno to spend a night with her at Villa Tugendhat: a communal meal, a mattress camp, no mobile devices, no watches, but a notebook for each person and everyone in white sleeping clothes – these are not necessarily the ingredients for a hip art event or a scientific meeting, but rather for a pajama party. Yet it is precisely in this contradiction that space opens up for those aspects that characterize Glassner's work: Reduction, meditation, mindfulness, supposed passivity and waste of time, consumption- and art market-denying idleness. And all this in Mies van der Rohe's monument to modern architecture. more: https://www.tugendhat.eu/en/vila-online/interpretace/interpretace-2/

SPEED 2018

To overcome the resistance to acceleration, this basic sales message was taken up by Anne Glassner for the Meisner dealership to combine the following polarities in a multi-level, cross-media work: speed and rest, robust material hardness and the phenomenon of haptic gentleness, a concentrated consciousness and the meditative To-like outward standstills of sleep. In response to the site-specific conditions and in collaboration with the staff of the house, sculptural elements composed of car parts, which on a higher spatial level form the counterpart to the installation 2-D collages, which the artist made from the locally accessible car advertising magazines ,In direct confrontation with the rumored value fabric of the car industry, Anne Glassner can be seen on a 3.5 x 2.5 m poster in pose with a racing overalls, where she chose the medium of staged photography. Finally at the opening she interacts with the same overall.
