Déjeuner sur l'herbe in Bikini 2023
In the work I want to show at the exhibition , I show photo-reproductions of re-stage art-historical nude paintings with actor/sibling Vicky Krieps .
The compositions, through the analog integration of the original paintings as backdrops they reference themselves inside and outside the very works they update. Adding a material exteriority to the ‘inside’ of the photos as well by puncturing and threading the subject with knitted coverings as sight gags, reclothing the women initially stripped by the gaze of their male authors while imbuing the updated subjects with a defiance that updates the originals.

I graduated in the Netherlands at the AKI, Art Institute of Visual Arts 2012 in the major of Photography and Media Art. In 2011, I went on an exchange program to Boston Massart, where I attended the graduating class of Matt Connors, as well as the courses Photobook and Home Picture by Sam Contis and the 20×24 inch Polaroid class by Y. Kaytaro.
According to my bachelor I went in autumn 2012 to the ECAL in Lausanne for a Master in Art Direction.
After my studies I lived 4 years in Berlin , where I got the artist status from Luxemburg , a financial aid for artists and worked as School-photographer.
Subsequently I went back to Luxemburg where I worked as an Art-Highschool teacher for 2 years before I decided to get back to the artist status to concentrate again more on my art practice and give from time to time independently workshops.
