Andreea Zimbru

Romania

Andreea Zimbru (b.1993, Falticeni) is a Romanian painter based in Cluj-Napoca. She has graduated with a BA Degree and a MA Degree in Fine Arts, in the Painting Department from University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca and currently is studying for a PhD in Visual Arts at the same institution.
Her practice incorporates both the abstract and the figurative style. Her ideas and inspiration are related to the daily life, mostly used as a pretext to explore not only the visible part of our existence but also, the unseen, which always shifts between a contradictory state, between the real and the unreal. The direct relationship with the unknown is frequently presented in her compositions, evoking unpredictable situations, puzzles and possibilities from various glimpses of reality.
Andreea Zimbru’s work took part in several group exhibitions (Romania, USA, Greece, Czech Republic) and she had solo exhibition in Romania (Cluj-Napoca, 2018, 2019) and Italy (Rome, 2024).
