Alejandra Glez

Alejandra Glez (1996) is a Cuban multidisciplinary artist based in Madrid. Her work focuses on deconstructing stereotypes and stigmas associated with the female body. Through photography, installation, video art, digital art, and performance, Alejandra explores topics related to Afro-Caribbean religions, collective memory, and the spirituality emanating from the relationship between humans and the sea. Alejandra’s last project was titled “Filha do mar” a solo show exhibition at Galeria Belard in Lisbon, Portugal that was a retrospective of a previously produces performance in Madeira. In 2023, she presented her performance "Daughter" on a beach in Tel Aviv, Israel. In February, she performed "Volver a nacer" at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza as part of the "Vision and Presence" program curated by Semíramis González. In March 2022, she exhibited at ARCOmadrid 2022 in the Fundación ENAIRE stand as the Young Photography Award winner.
