Party 2024

I think that the world is made up of a fragile gathering of many slightly different small existences. I would like to feel the certainty of original existence through my work, which consists of connecting many small parts of clay. Once fired, clay becomes hard and cannot return to its original state as a substance. When I think about that, I feel strength, persuasiveness, and beauty in ceramics.

Technically, I cut the thinly rolled red clay into small squares measuring 0.5cm by 1.5cm, applied white slip to each square with a brush, and then assembled the squares into a box using the slip as an adhesive. I aimed to make it as thin as possible. Finally, I fired it at 1230°C.
